The Treasure Chest Sale

family consignment in rocky mount

For Volunteers

We love our volunteers! The Treasure Chest Family Sale would be impossible to facilitate without volunteers.

Because we value our volunteers so highly, you can expect to be treated like a true friend. We start off by having each volunteer sign in and grab a nametag; each volunteer can choose a spot to place their personal items (and treasures they find along the way that they want to buy!); duties are assigned; refreshments are available; friendships are born!

Why volunteer with us?

Early Shopping Privileges:volunteers automatically shop early on Pre-Sale day, Wednesday, September 27.  (entry as early as 2pm!).

  • 9-hour (3 shifts) volunteers shop at 2pm
  • 6-hour (2 shifts) volunteers shop at 3pm
  • 3-hour (1 shift) volunteers and consignors shop at 4pm

Also, consignors who volunteer can earn additional percentage points on their sales. Volunteer for 1 3-hour shift and earn an extra 5%; volunteer for 2 3-hour shifts and earn an extra 10%.

To volunteer at our sale, please log in to your consignor page and choose “Volunteer”. Shifts are available in 3-hour increments.  Email us if you would like to create your own shift. Consider bringing a friend, spouse, or teenager with you for your shift; their hours count for you! We especially need help on Monday, September 25 and Saturday, September 30.  Those are great times to send your teenagers or husbands out to help!

Volunteer duties may be sorting, inspecting, assisting with check-out, straightening up, directing traffic, and setting up/breaking down, among other things.

Other ways to earn Volunteer Hours are to assist us with placing signs around town (10 signs = 1 shift!), placing postcards in neighborhood newspaper boxes (300 cards = 1 shift!; limited to 2 shifts per volunteer), obtaining complimentary advertising in either print, radio, or television markets (= 2 shifts!), and providing snacks/lunch for our volunteers (limited to those who are unable to work due physical limitations).

Remember, you don’t have to complete those volunteer shifts alone; bring along a friend or sister or spouse to help! We especially need “man-power” on set-up and break-down days.  Send those husbands and teenage sons in to help and YOU get the credit hours!

Does your teenager need volunteer hours for school? Here is a great opportunity!
